Film Lamination – Liquid Lamination

Liquid Laminates, UV curable coatings, Film Laminates and Lamination machines

Landor, our Sister company are experts in the applications and solutions for output inkjet media. The range of inkjet media today is so diverse and so depenant on printer, inks, application and even venue and means of installation. Landor Liquid Lamination products is one of the easiest, fastest and practical means of ensuring the longer term protection and durability of inkjet prints once printed. Sometimes just the logistics of sending or transporting printed images can lead to disappointment, degradation or failure of the expected and needed quality and the longevity of the printed image. Liquid Lamination can be simply carried out by hand after printing (usually best after 24 hours from printing), and will provide that extra assurance of retaining the image quality and visual desired. Usually by hand roller, paint pad, brush or spray equipment if desired. Most of the Landor Liquid lamination protective coating laminates are already used in diverse applications, for a multitude of reasons, but the main one being to preserve the finished print from any unpredictable destruction, damage and unexpected events that could occur such as abrasion, or exposure to water or even mishaps and mishandling. Choose bewtween gloss, satin, semi-gloss or matt prints. Constant R&D, testing and customer demands mean that most prints have a compatible coating from Landor range of liquid lamination products.  Through this constant testing and formulation R&D as well as application testing, we are on top of industry needs for improved and natural bond and durability of inkjet prints.  We test  as much print material and rigid printed substrates as we can get our hands on to bring the best result, longevity and protection of your digital prints . Among many important and often disregarded benefits of  Liquid Laminates is the guaranteed protection, resilience, need to protect Wall Coverings (for example Phototex paste free wallpaper), Fleet graphics, Canvas & Fine Art prints, Photographic films, Banners, and even as well as especially Truck Curtain Sides; Anti-graffiti protection can also be achieved with the water based, easy to apply Landor Anti-Graffiti liquid laminates. These can all be applied by hand for Ad hoc, or for larger runs by our specifically enhanced range of Liquid Laminators. Whereas there is no other compatible protection method for pvc banner, liquid lamination can easily double the life and maintain the quality of a Banner printed Graphic.

Our range of Landor UV curable coatings are UV curable Coatings developed and perfected for the protection and the enhancement of large format digital prints on what is usually Rigid direct printed substrates although we also support flexible and rigid materials. These coatings have been designed alongside the Burkle LFC 1300, 1600 and 2100 applying UV coatings to substrates with a thickness between 0,1 and 80 mm. The variety of base substrates working with our UV curable coatings is extensive;  composite panels, cardboard, corrugated cardboard, foils, wood based panel and so on. As well as the Burkle Coaters, we also support coatings for ATC, Barberian, and virtually any manufacturers coaters with transfer roller capabilities. Our coatings rang also include primers for improved adhesion and print capabilities for more difficult to print substrates. Examples of these can be primers for hard to coat substrates like glass or melamine.

The Landor range of Film Laminates and Adhesives protect and enhance prints for the Signage and Exhibition market. High quality, high value and high performance; what you would expect from Landor. Our laminates and adhesives are manufactured in the UK to the highest European standards, be confident that they are tried and tested to give optimum quality.

Don’t be let down by inferior products when finishing your prints, look at our range in more detail below:

Film Lamination

Film Lamination is the most common method of print protection, but has its limits. Already with different substrates, ink levels and flexible/Rigid characteristics, not all prints can be adequately protected with film Lamination, but neither do you need to invest in capital equipment to use Liquid Lamination but you do for Film lamination. Pressure, and adhesion to the print surface is key and critical. We have build so many years helping others fix a quality, longevity or protection issue with Lamination with our range of Liquid laminates we are therefore best placed to advise and assist you with the best and most practical method depending on your substrate, application, environment and quality needs and expectations. It is for this reason we can offer you the best reccomendation, support and advice without any single bias to one or another of these two technologies. Mainstream film Laminates may offer a quick and a dry solution but not always will it last. First you have to ensure adequate adhesion, without bubbling, or other effects like silvering. Then if you have a stable print media but a less stable laminate film, or your print media is not so stable you really need to match the print with an equally stable laminate film. There is also the quality of the film, adhesive, substrate and then if in addition you want flexibility, this cannot always be achieved so we are here to help you define what you need, and operationally as well as budgetary and practical and productively efficient the best match for your job or project.

Let us know what you are looking for, we enjoy challenges and maybe between us we can help you with a profitable solution

Application Fluids

landor_logo-ptl Application Fluids

Landor ‘Apps’ are vinyl application fluids. They are the optimum barrier to place between the substrate and the adhesive backed vinyl. Most adhesives are solvent-based, water based Landor vinyl application fluids prevent quick adherence to the substrate and providing installers more time and flexibility to position the graphic, particularly when working in difficult environments and with large format prints.
